When I made the switch to oils I was already purchasing organic cleaning supplies which cost an arm and a leg. Basically they were no different to what I could make at home. As my nana used to say ‘a little bit of vinegar and bicarb darling’
I make a general all purpose spraywith Tea Tree & Lemon essential oils. A dash of vinegar then fill with distilled water and your ready to go. I like to mix it up with OnGuard especially over winter or when you really need to zap some nasties.
I also use a drop of Lemon straight onto benches to lift any hectic stains or marks (hello grubby little fingers) and whip up a paste of bicarb, water & lemon for the oven or hot plate.
We make a tox free laundry powder with bicarb, washing soda and some lime oil. I also love using my OnGuard cleaner concentrate for spot cleaning or stains.
Add a drop or twp of Lavender to dryer balls. Pop a drop or two of Lemon in with wet clothes to freshen, in a paste with bicarb for heavy stains or a spritzer with water for a fresh aroma!
Simply add some vinegar and essential oil of your choice as a fabric softener.
There is nothing better than a clean bathroom that smells divine at the same time!
Natural cleaning doesn’t have to be hard or smelly.
Fill a 500ml amber spray bottle with 1/2 cup of white vinegar, 15-20 drops of essential oil and top with distilled water. My favourite for the bathroom is a mix of OnGuard, Lemon and Oregano. Perfect combo for combatting mould also with antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties it’s a sure fire winner!
Whip up some toilet pods and a loo spray and your good to go! Lemongrass & Cedarwood, or Peppermint & Lemon is a regular in our home.
With winter looming now really is the perfect time for a seasonal clean! Spritz the windows, polish the lounge, clean out the air con and soak all the toys.
I love to get a big bucket of warm soapy water with a good squirt of On Guard cleaner concentrate and wash the floors, walls and wipe down any furniture.
Fill a large glass spray bottle with 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 distilled water then add 15 drops of Lemon or Grapefruit. I use this as my glass cleaner but also doubles as a room spray or even a barking mist for my poodle!
I used to have sooo many products under my sink but now-a-days we only have about 5. Some vinegar, bi-carb, castile soap, on guard cleaner concentrate and my home essentials kit.
